Invitation

Earlier this week, I received an order to do a really fun canvas for a guidance counselor. It was painted to match this fun fabric on fabric.com.Red, black, and white are Ruston Junior High School colors. :) I think the poem as well as the colors are so appropriate.

Addie, you're going to be a wonderful guidance counselor. Congrats on the new job! :)

Subbing Cards

Last week, my mother-in-law asked me to make some postcards for her. They are for teachers at a local school, so they will have her subbing information. She wanted something fun to leave in their boxes. :)

Happy Birthday Kristen!

My friend Kristen had a birthday this past Saturday. I delivered her present to her on Tuesday during our weekly Bible Study. I am so thankful that I got to deliver this painting in person.... she cried! This painting is symbolic of a short passage she wrote several months ago. She emailed it to me right after she wrote it. I've been waiting to paint this for her since I got that email. :)

Here's what she wrote:
"When I was a young girl, growing up in Western New York in a small place called Highland on the Lake, my grandparents lived across the street from my home.  I would often visit them in the evening and end up leaving when it was dark.  My parents would unlock the back door and put on the front light, preparing for me to come home.  Anytime I left to go home, my grandparents would watch from the back door until I got all the way down the driveway and into the house.  Sometimes I would turn around and look back.  They would always be standing in the doorway, illuminated by the light coming out of the house.  When they saw me turn and look at them, they would always wave at me- reassuring me that they were still there and watching. Sometimes they would call out that they loved me.  When I got in the house, my habit became to turn the outside porch light switch off and on so that it would flicker and then shut it off and locked the door for the night.  It was my way of signaling that I got home OK and good night.  When I got older, this routine did not change.  I assured my grandparents and later just my grandmother on several occasions that I was old enough and responsible enough to get home in the dark by myself.  They need not wait in the doorway watching me anymore.  I appreciated their concern, but I could handle it on my own. Despite me telling them this, they faithfully continued to watch me.
I have reflected on this simple act many times in my life.  How I felt watched over and protected. Knowing that nothing would happen to me; that my grandparents were right there watching me get all the way home and doing it out of love.  In distant places from the safety and security of home, I would sometimes wish I had the front light on waiting for me to come home, the back door unlocked and someone who loves me dearly watching over me.  I found out at a cost that I did have those things; in a different way.  I found that God has always been there faithfully watching over me out of love.  Even if I am old enough and responsible enough to go it alone, I am never alone. Through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ, He washed away all my sin and prepared for me to come home one day, by unlocking the “back door” of heaven and the having “front light” of glory always on leading the way home. I am always ON HIS WATCH…

Baby Holleman

I received an order from a past client of mine. I took Shasta & Brad's engagement pictures a while back and now they are expecting a little one: Cade Donley Holleman. Woo-hoo!!!!!
I had so much fun painting this canvas! I found a new font that I really like- cute and classy (much like the bedding for the nursery). I used it on the canvas, and I think I will be using it more often.

Colors:  pale blue, cream, khaki, with espresso furniture
Here are some of the fabrics for the bedding: (Toile fabric is my favorite for nurseries! I love it!)
The canvas: (16X20) “From the fullness of grace we have received one blessing after another” -  John 1:16

I can't wait to see pics of your new little one! Congratulations Brad & Shasta!
Have a blessed Monday!

Cross Roads Baptist Church

A couple of weeks ago, Bro. Ben asked me to design a shirt for Cross Roads Baptist Church. Next time our church does an outreach project or goes on a mission trip, we will all have on the same shirt! Woo-hoo!!!!

The shirts are being printed by Broken Tees in Minden, LA. (The best tshirt printing I've ever used!... absolutely wonderful!)

A New Painting For Our Living Room

My husband and I currently live in an aparment where we can't paint the walls....boo!!!! So, for the past couple of weeks, I've been thinking of new ways to bring in color to our living room without painting the walls. I've been thrift store shopping (so much fun!) and redoing a couple of on sale items from Hobby Lobby. In the next few weeks, I'll post more of all my little projects, but for now, you'll have to settle for the painting. lol!

I got the frame from the thrift store for $2.50. It had a very UGLY bird painting in the middle....not any more!
My inspiration for the painting:
The painting (Its reference is to our first place that we've lived... It will be sentimental to us when we move... I know it will!)

Cross Roads Seniors!!!

I absolutely LOVE the seniors at our church! I'm sad that most of them are leaving because they are all so special to me. Since there wasn't an official Senior Luncheon, each of them got a free lunch with the Lee's.... one on one!!!! I cherish the time I got to spend with each of them.
I'm sure you can guess what their present was?!??!?!? LOL! A canvas with their favorite colors and verses (well, this was the plan for most of them).

Introducing the Seniors at Cross Roads Baptist Church:

Sarah H.- She will be heading to Florida in the fall for college... I'm so jealous!
Sarah, you make me laugh like no body else. You are totally RANDOM, but I love that about you. It has been an honor to be able to see you grow spiritually this year. Keep being a BRIGHT light for JESUS!!!!

Myk- He will be heading to Florida as well. :(
Myk, I am so proud of you. I pray that if Stephen and I have boys, that they are like you. Your spiritual maturity is unbelievable... especially at your age. Thank you for being a wonderful example to the younger guys in the youth group. I know God has great things in store for you, and I can't wait to see what they are!

Leah- She will be going to Minot State Universtiy! Woo-hoo!!! That means she will still be close.
Leah, I want to thank you for being an encourager in my life. It always seems that when I'm doubting what God is doing, He always sends you.... whether through text, email, or a card! You brighten my day! I have LOVED teaching Zumba with you.... you always make me bring my A-game to class. LOL! Keep trusting the Lord and wait on His guidance.

Sarah A.- She's an AGGIE! lol! Texas A&M is way too far away!
Sarah, I have enjoyed hearing and learning about all the fun places you've been (I hope to one day be as cool as you! LOL!) You are so artistic and if I ever go to a Spanish speaking country, I'm sticking you in my suitcase. I know God has a wonderful plan for you, especially during college. You are going to make tons of friends... so many you won't know what to do with them all. Allow God to use you.... all of you! I promise, you won't regret it. School is important, but God's mission is even more important. He'll help you find the balance.

Seniors,
Thank you for allowing me to spend your senior year with you. When you grow up and become successful, don't forget about Mrs. Robyn. LOL! I'm only kidding. I truly am blessed for knowing each of you. So as you go off to college (or stay in Minot), I have a couple of words of advice.... if you want to call it that.
#1: Find a church- the most valuable piece of advice I can give you. My church in college was what helped me make it through... literally.
#2: Call you parents at least once a week (enough said)
#3: Don't be scared to make friends. The friends you make in college will probably be your closest friends for the rest of your life.
#4: Study (it's a must)
#5: When going to a restaurant (especially when someone else is paying), eat the food that isn't good reheated first... then take the rest home (2 for 1 meal). I did this all the time when my parents came to town. College students are poor... and you have to eat!
#6: Get involved (with campus activities)
#7: HAVE FUN!!!!!!!! (not so much that you flunk out of school)
When you get to college, make sure you send me your mailing address!!!! I have a tendency to send fun care packages, I'm just sayin'!
In Christ,
Mrs. Robyn

Have a blessed Monday!

*The middle Uruguay painting was inspired by a t-shirt Aubri Duran did for one of our mission trips.

The Pierce Family

Last week I photographed the Pierce Family. As a photographer, I have a list of things I want to photograph... and a pregnant woman is one of them. LOL! Mrs. Aluna was gracious enough to let me take her pics... and Bro. Ben was pretty cooperative. I'm only kidding. They were both great sports. Thanks for allowing me to experiment!

Here are a few of my favorites!
When I think of Kat, Annie, and Elisha, this is exactly what comes to mind:
Mrs. Aluna is so cute!

Happy Early Birthday!

I just finished a painting that our pastor asked me to do for his office. I was inspired by the old Bibles he has on display in his office. I should have taken some pics of them, but I didn't... I don't know what I was thinking.  Here are some pics of his "old" canvas to go with his old Bibles.

Happy Early Birthday Bro. Ben! ~ From the Lee's
Have a blessed day!
