My grandmother made this sock monkey for me when I was a baby. I thought it was lost forever, but my mom found it. I cried when she gave it to me!

Canvas Art: Baby Lee's Nursery
As I have mentioned before, it took me a while to decide what I wanted to paint for Baby Lee's nursery.
We don't know if we are having a girl or boy, so I can't paint a name.
I didn't want something that was too baby. lol!
But I knew I wanted a canvas that would grow with Baby Lee. (Like I said, it's always hard for me to paint for my own house.)
I told my husband one night before we had our family devotional/prayer time that I didn't know what I should paint for the nursery. His response,"You paint everyday, and you don't know what you want to paint for the nursery?!" I know! I know! I was thinking the same thing. I told him to pick out a verse and I would paint it. Two minutes later, we open the devotion for that day and guess what the scripture is?.... Psalm 4:8
"In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety."
How perfect!!! Thank you Lord!
Then I was inspired by a wedding invitation I found....yes a wedding invitation-the background of it:
Here's the final canvas:

Baby Lee's Nursery: It is Finished!!!!
I can officially mark one item off my list... finishing the nursery. My husband and I have been working hard to get it finished. I can breathe now because it was a huge item on my to-do list. I'll have more pics next week, but here are a couple of shots.
Have a blessed weekend!

Canvas Art: Philippians 4:7
I sent this one off earlier in the week to a client who ordered it for a family member going through a tough time. I love this verse! It is so powerful...and so true!

Canvas Art: Baby Oliver's Nursery
My nephew is due a couple of days after Baby Lee. It will be interesting to see which baby comes first and how far a part their birthdays will actually be. Only the Lord knows!
My sister picked out super cute bedding for Oliver. I painted a canvas to match. The little lion on the bedding was too cute to not paint. :) I hope it looks great in his new room. :)
Baby Oliver, I can't wait to meet you! Love, LeeLee

First Attempt at Cross Stitching
If there is anything in this world I wish I could do....it would be to SEW. My grandmother was blessed with this talent, my mother was blessed with this talent, even my husband can sew a button on (and patches...i think it's a requirement in the military). Somehow, the ability to sew completely skipped over me.WHY?!?!?!
One day when I was suppose to be shopping for paint supplies, I found this cute little bib cross stitch kit at Michaels. lol! I couldn't pass it up.... I say that, but I don't even know how to sew. I think I told myself I just need to dive in and try. If it turns out horribly wrong, no one will have to know. How sad is that?!?! My grandmother gave me one quick lesson in cross stitching before she passed away. I wish I would have had several more lessons, but at least I had one. From that one lesson, I am by no means an expert. Actually, the farthest thing from it. Without pictures and directions, you can forget about it.
I attempted cross stitching on this bib for my nephew on the way (His estimated arrival is about 6 days after Baby Lee). Oliver, if you don't like it, know that LeeLee tried! lol! It was made with love...not so much talent!
P.S.- Don't look at the back!

Nana's Carrot Cake
My mother's favorite cake is carrot cake. Not carrot cake out of a box,
but homemade carrot cake. The kind that has the freshly grated carrots and
lots of LOVE in it. Before my Nana passed away, she made carrot cake just for my mom. Nana was an excellent baker (just one of the many things she was good at). For several years, Nana's recipe for carrot cake had been lost. Her sister (my great aunt) was digging through some boxes recently, and guess what she found?!?! The recipe for carrot cake... in Nana's handwriting. She sent it to me, and I thought I would try to make one. The result wasn't the prettiest, but it sure did taste good. :) I'll have to practice a little more before my mom comes to help with Baby Lee (only 8 more weeks!). I promised a fresh carrot cake when she gets here.
Have a blessed Monday!

Graphic Design: Raegan's 3rd Birthday Invitations
I can't believe this precious little one is turning three already. I've had the pleasure of designing all her birthday invitations so far (what an honor!). Her mother knew next month would be a little crazy in my house (getting ready for Baby Lee), so she ordered these last month. Talk about a mom that has it together. I hope I'm like that when our baby gets here.
Here's the info she sent me:
Here's the info she sent me:
"Theme
will be ladybugs with damask decor (either black and white or pink and
white). Raegan has requested pink (not red) ladybugs. LOL!"
The front: (Some info has been deleted for privacy)
The back. A gift idea list is a wonderful thing. I recommend it to all moms who are hosting a party for their children. As someone who has attended many children's parties, I would have loved to know what they would like as a gift.
Have a blessed Thursday!

Canvas Art: Cartoon
I get all kinds of requests from clients....which I love! I love the ones that are unique and allow me to think outside the box a little bit! A loyal client emailed me several weeks ago about painting a cartoon for her boyfriend. He is moving away and my client wanted to get something special for him.
I can post it now... it was a surprise! :)
The inspiration (Bobby's cake):
Here it is....Connie, Bobby, their dog Professor (love the name!), and the Dallas skyline.

An Update from RCP
First of all, I must say, I have amazing clients! I am truly blessed beyond what I deserve. I am so thankful that the Lord has taken a passion of mine and allowed me to have a successful business with it. I do what I do because I love it and enjoy it....not for the money. But, after a lot of thinking, praying, and business advice, I have decided to make a few small changes to RCP. No worries, nothing drastic. lol!

Canvas Art: Baby Lee's Painting #1
I thought since it is a special day today, I would post a picture of one of the canvases in Baby Lee's nursery. I still have one more to finish.....it's taking longer than I thought. I usually don't have problems being creative for other people, but it's hard when it's for my house. I have no idea why.
This painting is the first thing you see when you walk in the room. We don't really have a theme, but I still think giraffes are cute. :)

Canvas Art: Bathroom Art
I received a request to take a pin from Pinterest and make it a custom painting.
Inspiration from client: "We live in a log house/barn so I love the rustic style. The bathroom that is will go in is a blank canvas-- I have not chosen any colors for it- but i like red and turquoise. I've seen your work so I give you free range to be creative!"
Here's the final canvas:
