May: So Blessed!
May has been a long month, but my household has definitely been blessed. My husband returned home, we took a vacation (why I haven't blogged in a couple of days), and celebrated 3 years of marriage. My husband also heard and saw our baby's heartbeat for the first time.... a moment I will remember and cherish forever.
As you can tell by the picture below, our household is loved, thought of, and blessed beyond measure. Thank you friends and family for sending Mother's Day cards, anniversary cards, thinking of you cards, thank you cards, a sympathy card, graduation announcements, and a wedding invitation. Thank you for making our family feel so special!

A Dream Come True
This past weekend, my friend and I, along with her children attended a local event where Golden Spoon Yogurt had a booth. If you know me, you know I LOVE Golden Spoon! I could eat it everyday....but I would be as big as a house if I did. However, I purchased my $5 ticket and only had one mini size yogurt. I was proud of myself.... but just the thought that I could eat it all day if I wanted, made me very happy!

Hand Made Stationery
This week, I attended my first MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting. I had so much fun! We participated in a gift exchange (hand made or $5 store bought), and I brought this set of stationery as my gift.

Canvas Art: It's Finally Finished!
I have had a blank canvas hanging on my living room wall for several months.... as in about 5 months. About once a month, my husband asks me what I plan on doing with it. I couldn't decide.
I'm not sure what made me do a dove with brads, but it happened. And 400 brads later, I'm finally finished! Just in time for my husband coming home next week.

Happy Mother's Day!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day! Treat your momma to a special day. Let her know how much you love her.
My mom lives several states and thousands of miles away, but I still hope she feels special this weekend. She's getting a new sewing machine....she's an excellent seamstress (she'll deny it, but I can tell you right now, she is very gifted). I'm so thankful for her and how she has blessed my life. I pray that I have been a blessing to her as well.
One thing I'm so grateful for is that we always had dinner together at the table.... at least 4 times a week. When I was a kid, I didn't understand the importance or how hard it actually was to get the family to sit down around the dinner table all at the same time. I heard a statistic on the radio the other day: Kids who eat dinner at the table with their families 4-5 times a week are 85% less likely to participate in high-risk activities. Thanks Momma for helping me make good decisions, just but eating at the dinner table. Eating as a family around the table is one of the things I try to do in my household today. My favorite part of the day is when my husband and I can sit together at the dinner table....no TV, no cell phones (except when his phone rings), just the two of us talking about our day. I hope one day my kids will appreciate it as much as I do.
Sidenote, I remember going to a friends house in junior high and I asked if they would like me set the table. Talk about some weird looks. "Set the table?" HAHAHA! My friend made fun of me for a year because I placed a napkin, fork, and knife at each person's seat. I thought everybody did that until that day. No worries, the girl who made fun of me is still one of my best friends. lol!

Animal Crackers
I have the best mother-in-law on the face of the planet! She knows how much a LOVE animal crackers....not just any animal crackers though...Barnum's Animal Crackers. When I was a kid, if my mom gave me a choice to get a snack at the grocery store, I would get a little box of animal crackers. You know, the ones that look like a circus car with a handle on it. I never told my mother-in-law this, but she sent them to me one day in a care package. When I opened the box, it was like I was 6 years old again. She sends them more often now... 1. because I love them! 2. for Baby Lee 3. to share with Valkyrie. Needless to say, they don't last very long at my house.
Thanks Mrs. Vickie! You have made 3 Lee's very happy!

Happy Birthday Katie!
Katie and her mom share the same birthday....how cool is that?!?!
Several months ago, Katie's mom told me that "You Are My Sunshine" was a very special song to her. Somehow with my memory these days, I remembered that. lol! I paint "You Are My Sunshine" canvases all the time, but no one has ever requested turquoise (one of Katie's favorite colors... and mine too!). I made it just for her. (And the letter too!)
A special present for a very special friend. I hope you had a fantastic birthday Katie.

Canvas Art: Twin Girls Nursery
Twins S and E were born a couple of months early. They are two precious little girls I have been praying for. S and E are getting stronger each and every day. I love to hear how God is showing off by performing a miracle with them. I definitely don't mind when God shows off. :)
Here's a painting for their room. A little birdie told me this scripture was important to them...especially right now.
1 John 5:14-15 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.

Valkyrie's Morning Routine
Yep.... Valkyrie and I have a morning routine. Part of that routine is getting a treat in her Kong. She is so dramatic leading up to getting her Kong. But the deal is, if she doesn't bring it to me, she doesn't get a treat. Sometimes (ok, most of the time), I give it to her anyways.
P.S.- I never realized how country I sound until I watched this video.
