Envelope Idea
Not all letters/cards have to be sent in the mail. As much as I love to send and receive mail, I also love to hand deliver cards. There's nothing like seeing someone's reaction to a thoughtful card.
Here's an idea for an envelope:
Decorate the outside according to what you have in common with the person you are writing to.
For example, the picture below is a card that I gave to a guy that my husband and I know at the gym. He is a dear friend to us now. He works at Anytime Fitness. (If you're in the Las Vegas area, I highly recommend this gym... especially if you work crazy hours like my husband.) He's pretty hard-core too! On his envelope, I drew the gym's logo as well as some of the equipment we use there.
Make whatever you give personal!
Next week, I'm doing a post on some DIY envelopes.... with paper you probably already have in your house.
Have a blessed weekend!

I have a confession to make.....
I LOVE MAIL!!!
I love to send mail. I love to receive mail. I love mail!!!!! There is just something about getting a letter or package with your name on it instead of bills when you open the mail box. I have always been this way and I'm sure I'll stay this way forever... well, I hope!
Send something to someone in the mail today. It will brighten your day... as well as the person you're sending it to.
My next couple of blog posts are going to be about some fun mail/care package ideas. Come check them out!
Have a blessed Thursday!

Valkyrie
I thought I would blog some personal stories over the next couple of weeks. My husband and I have recently moved to Las Vegas so there are plenty of stories to share. Every day is a new adventure in the Lee household.....everyday is different.
My husband and I have one child.... well, one dog. She is like our child and her name is Valkyrie. She is a 4 year old Belgian Malinois (almost like a German Shepherd). She acts like a 3 year old toddler and is a total DRAMA QUEEN! I spend most of my day at home working in the office, meaning Valkyrie and I spend A LOT of time together. She is VERY protective of me. And when I say very, I mean VERY!!!! To the point that when my husband even points at me, she starts barking at him. I think it's funny, but I'm sure my husband doesn't like it when he really is trying to show me that he loves me and she starts growling and barking. However, my husband has trained her to do this. I love the fact that she protects me and I always feel safe when I'm at home. I trust her instincts more than I trust my own.... she can hear a million times better than I can. And she always gives me a good laugh when she barks at the doorbell ringing (especially when it's on the TV). Valkyrie is very much like her daddy - Her love languages are physical touch and quality time (the same as my husband's).... and she wants both from both of us!
I know that most people probably think that we are crazy because we treat our dog like our child, but oh well! They can get over it. She is an important part of our family and I can't imagine living in Las Vegas without her.

Captain Promotion Invitations
My husband is promoting to Captain in a couple of weeks and we can't be more excited! And I can't be more proud of him. He works so hard and he definitely deserves this promotion.
He LOVES Captain America, so his invitations have Captain America written all over them.

iFeliz Cumpleanos!
I just finished these invites and sent them to the lab! They are for a Dora Luau Birthday Bash... how cute! It is going to be one fun birthday party.
Here's a couple of images for inspiration:
The invitations: I thought it was a great idea to put gift ideas on the back of the invites. It's always hard to shop for kids and their age. Brittany, you are one smart and creative momma!
The thank you notes:

Book Review
I have made the decision to start reading more. As a kid, I read ALL the time. But as I've gotten older I have stopped reading as much. Much of this is due to always having to read things I didn't want to in college..... kind of put a bad taste in my mouth. Needless to say, I never had time for pleasure reading. A habit I wish I would have made time for anyway.
So, in order to make myself read, I went to the library to get a library card. The Clark County Library in Vegas is so great... and pretty (I might add!) I checked out a book, based solely on the summary on the back of the book. The first book I checked out was absolutely terrible. Way too many unnecessary actions and words. I was disappointed! I finished it, but I skimmed most of the book after I realized this was not a book I would recommend to anyone. I returned it after reading it, then did a little more research for the next book.
I decided to stick with the Christian section. I stumbled upon this book and let me just say.... I recommend it. It's not your typical cheesy Christian book. There are some real life problems in it that most people try to shy away from. If your in need of an idea for a book to read, read The Penny. Read it at the beach, on an exercise bike, or sitting on your couch!

FIREWORKS!
Last night at the 4th of July celebration, I pushed a button on my camera that I had never pushed before. Let me just say, I was very shocked and excited when I realized it was a VIDEO.
Me:"What does this button do?"
Random Man Walking behind me (Stalker): "I know exactly what that button does... it drains your battery!"
I was a little disturbed by him, but didn't really pay attention to him. My camera has video on it! What? No Way! I couldn't believe it. I'm telling you, my camera has way too many fancy buttons on it and I'm learning something new everyday about it.
So, in honor of my excitement about the video, here are some fireworks from last night's festivities! Enjoy!

Canvas for Baby Lesher
I have a friend who is having a baby VERY soon. She is having a little boy! I'm so excited for her and her husband. They are going to be great parents.
Please pray for my friends as well as the city of Minot, ND. They are in the middle of a massive flood and several of them have lost their homes. Your prayers are greatly needed and appreciated!
